Francesco Moretti

 

 

Pianist and musicologist, since his first work experience he gets in contact with prestigious musical institutions like the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia and the Institution of Concerts of "La Sapienza" University in Rome (IUC), the Concerts Society (Società B. Baratteli) in L’Aquila, the Central Institut for Sounds and Audiovisual Heritage (Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities in Italy), the Italian Musicological Society, the Italian Foundation for Ancient Music, the York Early Music Festival.

 

In 2009 and 2010 he was appointed Artistic Secretary of the Belcanto Section of the Reate Festival in Italy, international festival of classical music, jazz, theater and dance under the artistic direction of Bruno Cagli, of whom he became also personal assistant. In this occasion he collaborates with renowned artists such as Kent Nagano, Carmela Remigio, Alex Esposito, Anja Harteros, Monica Bacelli, Rosa Feola, Paolo Bordogna, Jessica Pratt, Michele Campanella, Riccardo Minasi.

 

He is guest and organizer of cultural high profile events as the Interdisciplinary Convention Percorsi della Memoria (Memory Paths) at "Tor Vergata" University in Rome (March 2007), the International Convention on Belcanto "L’italiano, una lingua per il canto" (The Italian, a language for singing) in Rieti (May 2010) with the participation of the renowned musicologists Giovanni Carli Ballola, Marco Bizzarini, Bruno Cagli, Jeremy Commons, Paolo Fabbri, Renato Meucci, Florénce Getrau. He realizes particular exhibitions as: "Alla ricerca dei suoni perduti" (In search of lost sounds) based on the prestigious and unique Fernanda Giulini Collection of ancient instruments.

 

He covers the role of artistic secretary of the Orchestra Italiana del Cinema (Italian Film Orchestra), the only Italian orchestra specialized in performances of famous soundtracks and rare film music, working on original and successful productions as the first live Italian concert of the great Oscar award winning modern silent movie The Artist in 2012 at  Ravello Festival, with the special participation of the composer Ludovic Bource at the piano.

 

He is also the artistic coordinator of the Young Talents Orchestra EY (Ernst & Young), the first Italian youth orchestra substained by a private company, with which he has organized concerts in some of the most important theatres and concert hall in Italy, with soloists as Francesca Dego, Salvatore Accardo and Rosa Feola and the musical direction of Carlo Rizzari, musical assistant of Antonio Pappano in Rome and conductor of international breath.


He has been the artistic coordinator for the inaugural events of the new Cultural Centre Kirchner (an area of 100.000 m2) in Buenos Aires, Argentina, together with artists as Martha Argerich, Luis Bacalov, Eduardo Hubert.
